Needs, desires and moods of Women are best revealed during meetings with them. Meetings are held monthly at Women Support Centers. The topics discussed are mainly related to problems of domestic violence.

During the meetings with women's groups in Tskaltubo, Khoni, Terjola and Vani, the participants discussed various problems:

- A significant part of women emigrated. Unfortunately, there are many single-parent families. Children have psychological problems.

- Women are unemployed and social assistance is insufficient. In such families, conflicts often arise due to social problems.

After discussing common problems, work on individual issues begins. Thanks to the intervention of mobilizers, three beneficiaries in Terjola, Vani and Tskaltubo solved their problems. Solving these problems required the involvement of a social worker, a lawyer and a psychologist.

How do Women Support Centers evaluate the activities of the Fund “Sukhumi”? What results do they provide and how important are monthly information meetings? What kind of support do women need?

Internal monitoring was conducted to answer these questions.

Meeting participants openly express their mood and share new ideas:

- These meetings are a source of new information for us. Violence against women has not ended, and we must strengthen our positions in the fight against this problem.

- Women rarely have the opportunity to get together and express their thoughts, tired of the daily routine, we find a different mood, and we really need it.

- I am glad that you think about women, about our empowerment. Our self-esteem is growing. New ideas appear. It would be good if we were given the opportunity to implement our ideas.

The meetings were held in the Women Support Centers of Zugdidi/Khurcha, Senaki, Khoni and Khobi.

Mobilizers covered various topics at information meetings. The problems of domestic violence and ways of prevention are actively discussed everywhere. At the meetings of the Women Support Centers of Khoni, Chokhatauri, Tskaltubo, it became clear that a lot of work on identification is ahead.

Successful practices and results encouraged women from other centers. During the exchange of information, new cases were identified in the Women Support Centers of Khobi, Vani and Senaki.

The Para-specialists of the Fund are actively working with mobilizers. They study the needs of women, inform them about services and programs.

"There are many services that women do not know about, so we must continue to provide information about them, we must talk about this to everyone who cannot come to meetings," noted the beneficiaries. In June, internal monitoring was conducted in the Women Support Centers of Senaki, Tskaltubo, Terjola and Vani. The monitoring showed that process of informing should be continued. The need for professional courses for women was also noted. The problems identified during the monitoring will be implemented from next month and will make the work in direction of supporting women more effective

Useful and relevant information is discussed by women at Khurcha Women Support Center (Zugdidi Municipality). They then share the news in other communities so that as many women as possible are informed. Men often participate at the meetings.

The information concerns issues of empowering women, which is of interest to the beneficiaries. A case of assistance was recorded. The information was provided to a woman living in Abkhazia who benefited from the health program. Supporting and strengthening each other is especially pleasant for each of them.

In May, the psychologist of the Fund “Sukhumi” held meetings in the Women Support Centers of Senaki, Khurcha, Kutaisi, Terjola and Vani.

The topic of the meeting was "Emotions and stress". During the meetings, the psychologist used the so-called "Emotional parcels", where the names of emotions were written down. The participants showed emotions using the body language, which was both funny and interesting.

"Emotions are an integral part of our lives, and individual differences in their manifestation depend on age, past experience, physical condition of a person, his interests and activities, character, social environment, etc. Women learned a lot thanks to the exercises and will definitely use my advice in practice," noted psychologist Eka Kvacakidze.

Trained para-specialists of our organization actively work with mobilizers of Women Support Centers. Improving social work in individual communities helps reduce the risk of violence in families.

Para-specialists work with particularly vulnerable families (IDPs, socially vulnerable people, families under crisis). Providing them with information and giving them correct direction is an important tool in social work.

In May, twenty cases were identified and redirected to the relevant services and programs in all ten Women Support Centers. In parallel, monitoring is being conducted and the progress of cases identified in previous months is being checked. In their work, para-specialists actively use the manual published by the Fund “Sukhumi” - "A Guide on Social Work for Community Leaders: Supporting Women at Risk of Domestic Violence and Survivors of violence."

Unemployment, low financial income in families are actual problems in almost all communities.

These problems are especially sensitive in Khurcha community, a village located on the conflict dividing line (Zugdidi municipality). Such topics are actively discussed at information meetings. Participants discuss and jointly seek solutions. The mobilizer of Khurcha Women Support Center introduces new information to the population and thus tries to contribute to the creation of a full-fledged environment.
